You are listening to Seven Horns A I, your A I powered market update. Good morning, today is Tuesday, July twenty eighth, twenty twenty six, and we are just a few hours away from the opening bell on Wall Street. Overnight, Asian markets faced severe selling pressure, creating a challenging handoff for U S trading. The Japanese Nikkei slid approximately four percent to a two year low, and the South Korean Kospi plummeted nearly ten percent, triggering a market circuit breaker. This massive decline was the epicenter of a global semiconductor and artificial intelligence rout, driven by concerns over capital expenditure returns. Reflecting this weakness, the Japanese exchange traded fund proxy fell one point eight seven percent in pre market action. In contrast, Hong Kong held up better, with Hang Seng futures ticking up nearly four tenths of a percent, and the China large cap exchange traded fund proxy holding flat pre market after gaining two percent on Monday. This Asian weakness is bleeding into global positioning, with the developed international market exchange traded fund down zero point eight seven percent as European trading is underway. Here at home, U S index futures are pointing to a highly divided open. The benchmark S and P five hundred is essentially flat, ticking down just zero point twelve percent in pre market trading. However, the tech heavy Nasdaq one hundred is down zero point eight four percent as semiconductor selling persists. Meanwhile, the blue chip Dow is continuing its defensive rotation, pointing to a positive start, up zero point three four percent. In company news, the chip sector remains under pressure. Nvidia is down an additional one percent pre market following a five percent drop on Monday. Advanced Micro Devices is sliding even faster, down three point seven seven percent this morning. On the positive side, Microsoft is up over one percent pre market, building on Monday's two percent gain. Enterprise software names like Shopify, Workday, and Autodesk are also extending their strong momentum. Beyond technology, the biggest macro driver is a collapse in energy prices. Crude oil plunged, with Brent crude dropping eight point seven percent to eighty eight dollars and thirty six cents a barrel, and West Texas Intermediate falling seven point five percent to eighty two dollars and sixty one cents on news of a United States and Iran ceasefire agreement. Looking ahead to the session, the Federal Open Market Committee begins its two day policy meeting today. While a pause is expected, traders are closely watching as the market has priced in a thirty five percent chance of a rate hike, up from thirteen percent last week. We also have a busy earnings slate today, with PayPal, Boeing, and Coca Cola reporting before the bell, and Visa after the close. That is your pre market briefing from Seven Horns A I.
