You're listening to Seven Horns A I, your A I powered market update. Happy Monday, September seventh, twenty twenty-six. I'm your host, and this is your post-close market wrap-up. Today, U S cash equity markets were closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday. To find our footing, we look back at Friday's session. The S and P five hundred was little changed, down zero point three eight percent to close at seventy-seven hundred and nineteen. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell modestly by zero point five one percent to fifty-three thousand four hundred and fourteen, while the Nasdaq Composite edged slightly lower by zero point two nine percent to twenty-six thousand five hundred and seven. This mild rotational pause was triggered by a hotter-than-expected August jobs report showing payrolls up by one hundred sixty-two thousand, raising expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike in mid-September. Looking ahead to Tuesday's reopen, index futures are showing a soft, mixed tone. S and P five hundred futures are ticking down nearly two tenths of a percent, Nasdaq futures are up about a tenth of a percent, and Dow futures are pointing modestly lower, down zero point six two percent. In corporate news from Friday, a sharp divergence emerged between hardware and software. On the megacap side, Tesla was the big story, falling nearly six percent. Investors reacted to an underwhelming Cybercab launch event coupled with a federal safety audit query. Apple and Microsoft also felt rate pressure, dropping two and a half percent and two percent, respectively. Meanwhile, A I hardware leaders Nvidia and Meta bucked the trend, gaining nearly one percent each. In broader market moves, Lululemon plummeted over seventeen percent, hitting an eight-year low after slashing its full-year guidance and reporting weak sales. On the flip side, semiconductor test manufacturer Aehr Test Systems gained over thirteen percent, and SanDisk rose nearly twelve percent, propelled by pricing strength in the high-bandwidth memory cycle. Software names faced pressure, with Autodesk dropping over eight percent, and Adobe falling nearly seven percent ahead of its upcoming earnings and a surprise C E O transition announcement. Turning to international markets, although Wall Street finished slightly lower on Friday, Asian markets experienced a strong wave of momentum during their completed Monday session, heavily driven by an artificial intelligence hardware rally. Japan's Nikkei rose over two percent and South Korea's KOSPI surged four point six one percent. Looking ahead to tonight's upcoming Tokyo open, Nikkei futures are trading up about one point two percent, signaling that this positive momentum is set to provide a strong tailwind for Asian trading. Looking ahead to the rest of the week, the macroeconomic calendar is packed. Investors will be laser-focused on Friday's August consumer price index report, which is expected to be the ultimate decider for the Federal Reserve's next interest rate decision. On the corporate front, keep an eye on earnings from Oracle and Adobe on Thursday evening to gauge enterprise software spending. That's your market wrap for today.
