You are listening to Seven Horns A I, your A I powered market update. Today is Wednesday, September twenty-third, twenty twenty-six, and we are looking at the action from today's post-close session on Wall Street. It was a tough day for equities as rising yields and inflation worries put pressure on risk assets. The S and P five hundred slipped zero point seven two percent, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped zero point six eight percent. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite felt the brunt of the selling, falling one point one three percent. Intraday, the market opened slightly lower and steadily ground downward throughout the session, closing near its lows of the day. This steady selling intensified after strong economic reports sparked fresh inflation concerns. Looking at the after-hours session, index exchange traded funds are trading essentially in line with today's close, showing very little additional movement. Looking at individual names, tech megacaps were a mixed bag. Alphabet was the standout decliner, dropping three point eight percent on concerns over heavy artificial intelligence spending and news of a fresh antitrust lawsuit. On the positive side, Microsoft gained zero point five two percent, acting as a relative safe haven and closing just above the five hundred dollar mark, while Meta Platforms edged up one point zero two percent. Cybersecurity was a clear pocket of strength today, with Palo Alto Networks advancing five percent and CrowdStrike rallying four point nine seven percent. However, Airbnb slumped seven point five six percent on concerns that a new artificial intelligence travel agent from Meta could disrupt the online travel booking business. Paychex was another major loser, sliding eight point seven seven percent after its earnings report failed to lift growth expectations. Yesterday, Asian markets closed mostly lower, and today's subsequent pullback in New York is acting as a bit of a headwind for the next sessions. While Japanese markets were closed today for a holiday, the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong closed its regular session down one point zero one percent. As the live Asian trading session continues, we are seeing some caution as traders digest the rising yield environment in the West. The primary driver behind today's action was the bond market. The ten year Treasury yield surged to around five point twelve percent, hitting its highest level since two thousand seven, while the five year yield crossed the five percent mark. This came alongside a massive move in commodities, with oil prices rallying as Brent crude surged back above the one hundred dollar a barrel mark. Tomorrow, investors will be keeping a close eye on retail bellwether Costco, which reports its quarterly earnings after the close. That's your market wrap for today.
