You are listening to Seven Horns A I, your A I powered market update. Welcome to our weekend market review for Sunday, October twenty-fifth, twenty twenty-six. With United States cash markets closed for the weekend, we are looking back at a highly divided final session on Friday and preparing for a massive week of central bank decisions and megacap earnings ahead. Fridays trading session was a tale of two tapes. The broad market slipped as the S and P five hundred fell zero point five two percent to close at seventy-six hundred twenty-four. However, the real pain was felt in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which moved notably lower, dropping one point two three percent to close at fifty-two thousand two hundred fifteen. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite barely budged, dipping just zero point two one percent to end the day at twenty-five thousand nine hundred fifty-five. The primary driver behind this dispersion was a geopolitical oil shock. Escalating tensions in the Middle East, including fears of strikes on Iran and reports of Saudi Aramco evacuating its headquarters earlier in the week, sent energy markets soaring. West Texas Intermediate crude settled Friday near one hundred three dollars a barrel, while Brent crude touched nearly one hundred seventeen dollars. This surge in energy prices, combined with the ten year Treasury yield finishing near five percent, re-introduced inflation worries. The University of Michigan survey showed one year inflation expectations jumping to four point seven percent. While cyclicals and rate-sensitive stocks dragged the Dow lower, large-cap quality tech and cybersecurity absorbed the rotation. In the cybersecurity space, we saw a full-blown rally. CrowdStrike rose notable eight point two five percent after expanding its strategic partnership with Nvidia. Zscaler and Cloudflare also posted strong gains, rising over seven percent each. On the flip side, capital-heavy energy infrastructure names were hit hard. Bloom Energy fell eleven point two four percent on cash flow concerns despite reporting record revenue, and Credo Technology fell nine point five one percent on competitive fears. Looking ahead, this Friday close suggests a cautious tone for Mondays Asian open. However, current futures markets are trading essentially flat, with the S and P five hundred futures up just a tenth of a percent and Dow futures ticking up about a quarter of a percent. The upcoming week is packed with market-moving catalysts. The Federal Open Market Committee meets on Tuesday and Wednesday, with ninety-four out of one hundred economists surveyed by Reuters expecting the Fed to hold interest rates steady. We also face a massive wave of corporate earnings. Alphabet and Microsoft are scheduled to report their third-quarter results on Wednesday after the close, followed by Amazon on Thursday, and Apple on November second. These reports will go a long way in deciding whether the artificial intelligence capital expenditure narrative remains stable or experiences further cracks.
