You are listening to Seven Horns A I — your A I powered market update. Today is Monday, November second, twenty twenty-six, and we are looking at the action following today's market close on Wall Street. It was a split session today as blue chips managed gains while technology stocks fell back late in the day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished modestly higher, up zero point four one percent to close at fifty-one thousand nine hundred and eighty-four. Meanwhile, the S and P five hundred edged slightly lower, down zero point five percent to seventy-five hundred and forty-two, and the Nasdaq Composite fell one point zero seven percent to end at twenty-five thousand one hundred and sixty-four. Stocks actually started the day with strong gains, recovering from Friday's sell-off. Early on, the S and P five hundred rose more than one percent, while the Nasdaq was up nearly one point eight percent, helped by a sharp decline in crude oil prices. However, that upward momentum faded in the afternoon. Tech and artificial intelligence names faced pressure, causing both the S and P and Nasdaq to reverse course and close in the red, while the Dow held onto gains thanks to cyclicals and industrials. Looking ahead, broad market exchange traded funds are flat in after-hours trading, with the S and P five hundred fund ticking up just zero point zero one percent, suggesting the market is essentially in line with today's close. Turning to megacaps, Apple is the main story. The company slipped one point eight three percent in regular trading to three hundred thirty-eight dollars and thirty-two cents, and dropped another two point seven five percent after hours to three hundred twenty-nine dollars and one cent. Although Apple reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of one hundred fourteen point forty-eight billion dollars, beating expectations, its Greater China revenue of seventeen point fifty-four billion dollars fell short of expectations, raising worries along with higher memory-chip costs. Elsewhere in tech, Microsoft fell two point eight three percent, while Amazon bucked the trend, rising two point two percent. Among top movers, Marvell dropped twelve point seven two percent after announcing an all-stock deal to buy Lumentum for one hundred fifteen billion dollars. Lumentum shares also declined sharply, falling eighteen point five nine percent. Oracle dropped eight point eight five percent following a twenty billion dollar fundraising announcement for artificial intelligence infrastructure. Looking overseas, Asian markets are preparing to open. Japan's Nikkei closed down zero point three percent in its previous session, while China's Hang Seng index closed up zero point four percent. With the mixed close on Wall Street and tech-heavy indices ending lower, traders heading into the Tokyo and Hong Kong opens may face a headwind, though futures suggest some resilient underlying sentiment. On the macro front, oil collapsed. West Texas Intermediate crude fell seven point three percent to around ninety-six dollars and fifty cents a barrel on signs of diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran. This significant decline provided a disinflationary boost to consumer and industrial stocks. As we look to tomorrow, investors will keep a close eye on chipmaker A M D's earnings and the upcoming United States midterm elections. That's your market wrap for today.
